At Larimar we like to offer more than just a riding facility to our clientele. Since the beginning we have understood that the "barn family" is critical for success in a show ring, but also on a personal level per rider. We're lucky and grateful to each client and staff member, because they show dedication, support, and focus every day they come through our doors. Larimar provides a beautiful, state of the art facility, but it is the bonds & heart within that sets us apart from the rest. We strive for everyone to feel welcome and comfortable, because we understand that's the best environment for people to learn and grow in.

Larimar Show Stables is owned and operated by Jill Curtis and she is available for all types of training programs. Raised in Attica, Indiana, Jill traveled east as a teenager to pursue her equestrian education. She has worked at numerous farms up and down the east coast, most notably working for Todd Minikus and Nona Garson. She has 15 plus years of showing experience and teaching in the hunter, equitation, and jumper rings. A good work ethic and a love of all things equine drove her to build the new facility which is currently the home of Larimar Show Stables. In addition to a fanatical need to continue her equine knowledge, Jill attended both the University of Connecticut and the University of Virginia.
Sarah grew up locally, riding and showing along the east coast. After receiving a degree in Accounting she decided to pursue a career as a professional groom. She spent many years travelling the US circuit learning from many different riders, trainers, and horseman. Most notably Sarah worked for Kent Farrington, who helped provide a deep insight to the five-star level of showing and grooming. After spending a few years travelling the world it was time to come home and make roots in CT. Sarah came upon Jill and Larimar and quickly recognized the dedication and passion of the team and wanted to be involved. Sarah finds watching new riders fall in love with the sport and more advanced riders achieve goals to be one of the most rewarding parts of being a trainer here at Larimar!
Adrienne 'Dee Dee' Wilbur has formally been the assistant trainer at Larimar since 2015. Dee Dee and Jill have known each other since 2011 from the show circuit. Before Dee Dee joined Larimar she was the Equestrian Director for 4 years at Kent School and the Equestrian Director for 2 years at Miss Porters. She had a successful junior career and once out of college Dee Dee found herself in the jumper ring. She was united with her horse Loretta and under the instruction of Michael Page had many years of success in the jumper ring. Dee Dee has a passion for teaching young riders horsemanship and riding skills and enjoys working with and challenging advanced riders and theirs horses to accomplishing their riding goals. Dee Dee and her daughter Brynn enjoy their time riding and teaching at our beautiful stables.
